On Friday, March 21st, we caught the students of Valencia Community College just a few hours into a 12 hour shoot on the last day of production of the film Out on Parole. As is the usual custom with Valencia films, it is a co-op with outside professional filmmakers. This time around it is KD Entertainment.
The writer and producer is Darwin Tademy, Jr. and the director is Derek Rowe of Doctrine Productions.
Out on Parole is an urban comedy. The story is about Marcus Moore who is being played by 18 year old Michael Sapp. Marcus, a street-smart con is released on parole and into the care of his brother Clarence, who's a county commissioner and has a wife and child to look after.
That night, they converted the Valencia production offices into a law office. The screening classroom was made into the wardrobe and hair/makeup area and the hallway was used to setup up production sound, monitor, and craft services. Although we only stayed on set for two setups, we could see they were turning the loading dock area into a makeshift green screen for the final shot of the evening.
We took a few pictures while on set. Check them out in the PhotoSeen.
