Perseverence Pays Off For Banks Helfrich (released 6/10/2008) By Douglas Lorah The Film Slam for June 2008 finally paid off for Banks Helfrich. He has been a mainstay at the Film Slams since they have moved to its current home at the Enzian Theater. His short Flippant took home first place this time. Flippant will now move on to the Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase in December. Second place went to Body Farm by Miguel A. Ramos aka Somar Productions. Body Farm also recently screened at the 13th Valencia Film Celebration. The third place film was Toasted by Daniel Watkins.
