The CBS Telecast and Governors Ball for the EMMY Awards will take place September 19, 2021. The 73rd EMMY Awards will be in front of a live audience and hosted by Cedric the Entertainer. The broadcast will air from 8-11pm ET and 5-8 PT live on CBS television network and available for steaming live and on demand on Paramount+.
Nominations for the event were announced on Tuesday, July 13 at 8:30a.m. PT on EMMY.com. The live virtual ceremony was hosted by Father and daughter Ron Cephas Jones (This is Us) from Los Angeles and Jasmine Cephas Jones (Blindspotting) from New York along with Television Academy Chairman and CEO Frank Scherma.
The Crown and The Mandalorian are tied for most nominations with 24 each. Programs with attention and more than 15 nominations each include: WandaVision, The Handmaid's Tale, Saturday Night Live, Ted Lasso, Lovecraft Country, The Queen's Gambit, and Mare of Easttown.
