Pupsock & Wendell in The Gallery of Doom, the short film from Poem Pictures and Blue Juice Films, was accepted into the 2008 Palm Springs International Short Film Festival & Film Market. The festival runs August 21–27 in Palm Springs, California. Pupsock and Wendell will be screening on August 23rd as part of the "For Kids of All Ages" segment and also on August 26 as part of the "Art Attack" segment.
Pupsock & Wendell played here in Orlando at the Florida Film Festival this past spring and at the Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase back in December 2007. Below is a photo of Patrick Algermissen along with cast and crew at the Revel 17 Closing Night celebration at the Florida Film Festival. Patrick was writer and director on the project. It was produced by Thomas Mumme, lensed by Jeremy Schneider, and edited by Adam Miller.
Pupsock & Wendell will also screen in Washington, D.C. at The Smithsonian Institution. This summer, the Smithsonian will celebrate creativity and the power of imagination with the exhibition Jim Henson's Fantastic World from July 12th – October 5th in the Smithsonian's International Gallery. Pupsock & Wendell will screen October 3rd and 4th as part of Heather Henson's Handmade Puppet Dreams for Kids, a film festival of puppetry put together by Jim Henson's talented and visionary daughter Heather.
Produced in Central Florida, the 13-minute family-film combines live action, puppetry, hand drawn animation, 3D animation and virtual worlds. The film is based around characters from Algermissen's feature length screenplay The Little Dream Engine, which is currently in development, and also serves as a pilot for a prospective children's series.
