25th Anniversary Sarasota Film Festival

The Sarasota Film Festival will be March 24-April 2, 2023. The Opening Night Film is Cirque Du Soleil: Without a Net which will start at 6p.m. with a red carpet and Director Dawn Porter in attendance. The screening will be held at The Circus Arts Conservatory (2075 Bahia Vista St, Sarasota, FL 34239). The film tells the story of when the world shut down and the Circus went into free fall, closing 44 shows and letting go of 95% of their workforce in a week. The documentary gives you access to how these creatives came back to the stage after one of the world's greatest crisis.

Strong Women energy in some of the films on the 2023 schedule. Look for titles: Love to Love You, Donna Summer, Being Mary Tyler Moore, and Judy Blume Forever. Closing Night Film: On A Wing and A Prayer will have a red carpet at 2pm; 3pm awards with the evening at the Sarasota Opera House screening concluding at 6:00p.m. There will be a Q and A with the films producer Roma Downey and Director Sean McNamara following the film.  The movie stars Dennis Quaid, Heather Graham and Jesse Metcalfe.

This will be the 25th Anniversary of the Sarasota Film Festival. Founded in 1998 with a mission "to celebrate the art of filmmaking and the contribution of filmmakers by hosting an international film festival and developing year-long programs for the economic, educational, and cultural benefit of our community."
