The February Film Slam was a diverse and entertaining lineup. The winner was
A Drop of Summer which was made by a couple students from Oviedo High School and what looked like family and friends. It was directed by
Allison Tate-Cortese. She also co-wrote it with Sadie Yanckello.
Coming in second place by only one vote was
Avarice, a western-styled story made with the assistance of the Valencia Film Program. It was written and directed by
Levon Mergian.
Third place was
Roid Rage. Not to be confused with steroids, this is the story of another type of roid as it rages through Orlando. Perhaps not everyone's cup of tea, this guns and gore short may do well on the horror festival circuit. The movie drew as many laughs from the audience as the director
Ryan Lightbourn and actor Zach Canfield did during the Q&A.
We will have photos in the PhotoSeen shortly.
