I went back through the Florida Film Festival schedule Monday morning. Let's see what else is going on for the miserly folks this time. Being the 20th anniversary, the festival is providing more events that are free admission and open to the public. Some will be free food and drink as well. I'll break it down by the day, so you can match it up to your calendar.
Monday, April 11
Olive Garden Italian Cinema Night - Enzian Theater
They are screening 2 films - La Pivellina at 6:30pm and Amarcord at 9:15pm. Here's the kicker. The 8:10pm tasting reception is free. Free Olive Garden food and wine. The films are $10 each.
Tuesday, April 12
There's a couple free things going on Tuesday. First is a free screening of The Yearling which is the usually free Popcorn Flicks in the Park in Winter Park's Central Park. I don't know if I said free and park enough times. Starts at 8pm.
Second is the Whole Foods Market Movie & Tasting at the Enzian and Eden Bar. This is a screening of A Matter of Taste: Serving Up Paul Liebrandt preceded by the short Cut/Chop/Cook. The freebie in this one is an 8:15pm tasting reception. You can expect healthy hors d'oeuvre from Whole Foods.
Wednesday, April 13
Digital Cinematography Forum at Full Sail University - 11:00am-12:30pm.
The panelists are expected to discuss topics such as cinematography, editing, and more.
At 5:00pm at the Enzian and Eden Bar, the Guard Dog Global Jam Art Show will take place. This is best explained on the festival website.

8:00pm at the Eden Bar is Peroni & Popcorn: Hitchcock Happy Hour. There will be free Hitchcock on the outdoor screen. Beer and popcorn will be available for purchase.
Thursday, April 14
A forum called Perseverance: Women In The Industry will take place at the Enzian Theater from 11:00am to 12:30pm.
Friday, April 15
New Frontiers in Distribution at Enzian - 11:00am-12:30pm
This panel will discuss ways to get your film distributed in today's environment. The panel is comprised of distributors and buyers.
Filmmaker Forum at Regal Winter Park Village - 1:30pm-3:00pm
Talk to the indie filmmakers from this year's festival. Moderated by Rollins College's Denise Cummings.
Saturday, April 16
Revel 20, this is the closing party of the festival. This has never been free to the public. This is outside at the Eden Bar and runs from 7pm-2am.
Sunday, April 17th
Florida on Film at Enzian - 10:30am-12:00pm
This forum will discuss how Florida has been portrayed in movies and advertisements over the years.
