The Global Peace Film Festival is bringing its unique message of peace to Orlando from Tuesday, September 20th through Sunday, September 25th. It will be screening at the Plaza Cinema Cafe and the Gallery at Avalon Island, both in downtown Orlando, as well as the Orlando Science Center, Rollins College, and the First Congregational Church in Winter Park.
There are five panel discussions that will actually stay to the topic of peace rather than the standard filmmaking questions:
What is Peace, Making Films That Make a Difference, Peace Pitch Work-in-Progress "Every Three Seconds", Issues Forum: Media Coverage of Peace & Environment Issues, Interfaith Dialogue
There are even a few free screenings at the festival including the opening night film Fire in Babylon on Tuesday, September 20th. It starts with a reception at Bajalia (520 S. Park Avenue, Winter Park) at 6pm. It will be followed by the outdoor screening at Rollins College on the Mills Lawn.
Valencia College is participating this year and they will have a free screening as well. The Day After Peace will show in the PAC on their East Campus on September 21st at 7pm.
