Popcorn Flicks in the Park series presented by the Enzian Theater takes place once a month and is free and open to the public. The films are presented with open captions. This month on March 7, 2024, a 50th Anniversary screening of the classic film YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN will screen at 7:00pm.
The film, a spoof of Mary Shelly's gothic tale has the grandson of Victor Frankenstein, a neurosurgeon, living down the legend of his grandfather, even changing the pronunciation of his name. Upon discovering his grandfather's diary, he begins to feel differently and returns to the family castle to replicate his ancestor's experiments and feed his own curiosity. This leads to the creation of a very unique monster.
The film made in 1974 stars Gene Wilder and has a running time of 106 minutes. The film is rate PG and is directed by Mel Brooks. Pack a picnic and a blanket to settle into the Central Park, Winter Park lawn to enjoy a classic film amongst your neighbors.
