The 19th annual Sunscreen Film Festival will take place April 25-28, 2024. The sunny backdrop of St. Petersburg, Florida mixes filmmakers, actors, writers, producers, and celebrities in a relaxed atmosphere. The festival is presented by the St. Petersburg Film Commission and will be held at the Sundial AMC 12 Theaters downtown.
Celebrating independent film you will find blocks of films that include high school, college, comedy, drama, Florida shorts, documentary, visionary tales, and futuristic tales.
Speaking engagements include Comic Book to Film: How Making a Comic or Graphic Novel Can Help Get Your Movie Made, AI in Filmmaking, What the Future Looks Like, Acting Workshop: From Audition to Action, LEGAL:Ask the Lawyer, and DEVELOPMENT: From Concept to Screen.
On April 27th, the James Museum will be the house for the awards ceremony and party from 9pm-12am. Guests are welcome to enjoy the art and sculptures of the museum and then the awards start at 9:45p.m. Sunscreen badge holders are able to view the artwork from 7-9pm. The Party will start immediately following the awards. In appreciation of Autism Awareness Month, Sunscreen and the Flutie Foundation are proud to present the "Stars of the Spectrum" performing at the event.
