The 26th annual Melbourne Independent Filmmakers Festival will be October 17-19, 2024. The Premiere Theaters Oaks 10 in Melbourne, Florida is where the festival will be held. The festival is open to filmmakers from around the world. The MIFF has two screening blocks that feature Florida filmmakers: "Florida Made Films" and "Rising Stars" where the focus is on young filmmakers.

Marina, the Fire Eating Mermaid. 20:17 - A film that chronicles the captivating journey of a remarkable Florida woman.
Isla Monstro - directed by Steven Shea, Abyssmal Entertainment, Inc. (adult sci-fi animated feature comedy, Rated R). 96:00. - When loser Duke, who has screwed up every hair-brained scheme he's ever come up with, accidentally falls off a cruise ship and wakes up on a mysteriously abandoned, top secret government island, he discovers that it's overrun with mutants and monsters from a failed 1980s DARPA "super soldier" project to stop the 2nd Cold War. He soon comes up with the incredible idea of turning the island into a world class getaway resort, utilizing the creatures as its staff, much to the dismay of the United States government.

The festival will include a comedy program of films, International short films from around the globe, and Florida Filmmakers matinee among other programmed events. A red carpet reception and awards will close out the festival with an After-Party at Hemingway's Tavern located next to the theater and include karaoke.
