Orlando 48HFP is Weekend of August 23-25
(released 8/7/2013)

The Orlando 48 Hour Film Project competition is just around the corner.

If you are unfamiliar, the 48HFP is an international short film competition that is run regionally.  All teams start at the same place and time.  They are given a character, a prop, a line of dialogue, a genre, and 48 hours to script, shoot, edit, and submit a short film. Then, a couple screenings take place to show off the final pieces and winners are announced for different categories such as best film, best actress, and best use of prop.  Winning films move to regional competition and so forth with prizes going to overall champions.

There is still time to enter a team.  You can also join a team by meeting up at one of the remaining Meet & Greets on Friday, August 9th or Tuesday, August 13th.

The kickoff event starts at 6pm on Friday, August 23rd.  This is when teams start by getting their lines, characters, props, and genres.  The dropoff event is Sunday, August 25th beginning at 5pm.  7:30pm is the cutoff.

The screenings will take place September 4th and 5th at the Premiere Cinemas at Fashion Square.
