The Sunscreen Film Festival is taking place April 24-27, 2025 in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. Celebrating independent, cinematic artistry, the attendance is a mix and mingle of filmmakers, actors, writers, producers and celebrities in a relaxed atmosphere. All are welcomed from avid cinephiles to those just looking for a new cultural experience.
Actress Tara Reid and Actor Jim O'Heir are a part of this year's festival as well as Talon Entertainment executives.
At the festival's inception in 2005 through 2006 then titled "Sunscreen Film and Video Festival" it was housed in Studio@620, a local art gallery screening 35 short and feature films over two days. The festival drew 600 attendees and filmmakers, resulting in standing room only. Today, over 7,000 attend and it enhances the economic profile of the area drawing tourism and international media to St. Petersburg, Florida.
