Full Sail Hall of Famers include 2 from Film & TV

Hall of Fame Week will run March 18-20 on the Winter Park campus of Full Sail University. Industry leaders, alumni, workshops, meet and greets, panels, and educational opportunities are planned for the week of celebration. The 6th annual Hall of Fame inductee class includes six inductees, two of which are part of the film and television industry. Hunter M. Via and Rick Viers will be recognized for their achievements in the film and television industry since graduating from Full Sail.

Hunter M. Via, Supervising Editor, A.C.E. graduated in 2000. Slide forward to today where his credits include Golden Globe award winning series The Shield, Sons of Anarchy, AMC series The Walking Dead, Emmy Award winning series Arrested Development, and BAFTA award winning series Torchwood.  In 2011, Via received the A.C.E. Eddie Award for Best Edited One-Hour Series for Commercial Television for his work on the pilot episode of The Walking Dead "Days Gone Bye".

Ric Viers has authored books on sound effects and location sound. His television work includes Dateline, Good Morning America and working with Universal Studios and Disney. Viers runs the Detroit Chop Shop that houses sound libraries and Michigan's only foley sound stage.

Criteria for the selection of Hall of Fame Inductees is: Full Sail University graduate, ten years industry experience, individual must possess passion for their work and model for which other artists can aspire raising the Full Sail community at large.

Hundreds were considered for induction. Final names were selected by confirmed faculty, administration and past Hall of Fame inductees.  On campus, a 60 foot mixed media wall showcases artifacts, memorabilia from work, pictures, sound, and video.
