Sarasota Honoring Sophia Loren with Legend Award

Sophia Loren to be honored with Legend Award on March 31st, the eve of the Sarasota Film Festival 2016. The festival announced the evening will be held in partnership with the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall located in Sarasota, Florida.
"The relationship between the Van Wezel and the Sarasota Film Festival is a strong, vibrant one," said Mary Bensel, Executive Director, Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. "We are delighted that the SFF will be honoring one of the film world's greatest living legends, Ms. Sophia Loren. In the past, we have collaborated on bringing some of the screen world's biggest legends to the Hall."
Previously, the festival recognized Stanley Tucci, Rachel Weisz, Felicity Huffman, Jane Seymour, Sydney Pollack, and Kevin Kline with the Legend distinction.
The festival will present the Oscar (TM) winning actress with the Legend Award followed by a stage conversation between Ms. Loren and Entertainment Tonight correspondent Bill Harris.

"Sophia's legacy and work is a true representation of the arts and culture that we strive to bring to this community year after year. As we enter our 18th festival, there is no better way to celebrate than to recognize the iconic Ms. Loren."
The Sarasota Film Festival will be held April 1-10, 2016 with events highlighting the gulf coast commmunity along with celebrating 18 years of screenig features, documentaries, shorts and kid friendly cinema from new and veteran independent filmmakers.
