Florida Students Named Academy Winners

What started out as 29 finalists in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 32nd annual Student Academy Awards competition has been narrowed to the winners list of 12 students. Among the 29 finalists were 2 students from Florida schools. Both of these finalists have been announced as winners. All of the winners will participate in a week of industry-related activities and social events culminating June 12 with the awards presentation ceremony at the Academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

While the U.S. students know they will each receive an award, the level of that award – gold, silver or bronze – will not be revealed until the June 12 ceremony. Besides trophies, gold medalists receive $5,000, silver medalists are awarded $3,000 and bronze medal recipients are presented with $2,000.
