By greenroomwire
On September 8, the Florida Writers Association's Orlando Palm Group welcomes A. Wayne Carter, screenwriter, and author of the book, "Hollywoodaholic: Confessions of a Screenwriter." Wayne teaches screenwriting and is a consultant on feature projects. Before he settled down in Orlando, he spent more than fifteen years in Hollywood where he made a living writing screenplays and selling them to major studios like Paramount, Fox, HBO, CBS, Cannon, and National Lampoon, to name a few.
What makes a successful screenplay and a successful screenwriter? What's the difference between the fantasy and the reality of the writing life in Hollywood? Would you like some tips from a pro on pitching your project? Do you have a pitch you're just dying to make? Bring it along. Bring all your questions about screenwriting. Wayne is your answer man in September.
Join FWA on Thursday, September 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the First Congregational Church, 225 South Interlachen in Winter Park. (Go to the New England Ave. side entrance, marked "Hooker Hall.") The meeting is free and open to the public.
