Kevin Bacon to Receive Award in Sarasota

KEVIN BACON SET TO RECEIVE CAREER ACHEIVEMENT AWARD AT SARASOTA FILM FESTIVAL

The SARASOTA FILM FESTIVAL is set to pay tribute to Actor/Director/Musician KEVIN BACON at a special benefit on November 16, 2005. Kevin will receive the Festival's Career Achievement Award for Outstanding Contribution to Cinema.

The evening will begin with a screening of his second directorial outing LOVERBOY. Based on the novel by Victoria Redel, LOVERBOY asks: What happens if a mother loves her child too much? The film features performances by Bacon, Marisa Tomei, Blair Brown, Matt Dillon, Campbell Scott, Sandra Bullock, Oliver Platt and nine-year-old Domenic Scott Kay as the object of his mother''s obsessive love.

LOVERBOY will be presented, in two theatres, at 6:00pm at the Regal Hollywood 20 theatre on Main Street in Sarasota. A Q&A with Kevin Bacon will follow the screening in the larger theatre. Kevin will be joined in Sarasota by his brother Michael who composed the score for the film. Michael and Kevin are the two principal members of "The Bacon Brothers Band," which will be performing on the 17th in Tampa and the 18th at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Center in Sarasota.

Following the screening, guests will head out to the Longboat Key Club & Resort's Harbourside Room for a 3-course dinner followed by a filmed retrospective of Kevin Bacon's career and the presentation of the Award. The Longboat Key Club & Resort is the Official Club & Resort of the Sarasota Film Festival.

Tickets to the Film and Dinner are $200 per person. Patron tables of 10 go for $2,500 which includes preferred seating, champagne, and listing in program.
