Weekend Highlights for Gasparilla Film Festival

The Gasparilla International Film Festival started this week.  The weekend is coming and the schedule looks packed, so here are a few highlights to help sort out what's available.

There are free industry panels for festival patrons on Saturday, March 23 at the Tampa Improv.
  • Projects of Any Size - Producing with SAG-AFTRA / 11a-12p
  • Book Smarts vs. Street Smarts - Does Film School Matter / 12:30p-1:30p
  • Finance Through Exhibition - How Do I Break Into the Industry / 2p-3p
  • Directing Talent - Building a Creative Space / 3:30p-5p
Saturday evening is a screening of Cold Brook.  It is the directorial debut of William Fichtner who also wrote and produced the feature film.  He stars alongside Kim Coates.  They worked together in Pearl Harbor and more notably in Black Hawk Down.  Both will be in attendance.  It screens at 8pm at Centro Ybor AMC.

A local story about Weeki Wachee, We Are Mermaids, screens on Saturday at 1:30pm at Centro Ybor AMC.
