The state legislative session has ended and the final budget only needs to be signed by Governor Bush to go into effect. The way things stand, the incentive fund has been doubled from $10 million to $20 million and the Office of Film and Entertainment's operating budget increased by $100,000 from $653,296 to $753,296. Also on the books, the Miami International Film Festival has been alloted $50,000.

The 2006-2007 budget will go into effect July 1st.

A message from the State Film Commissioner went out on Thursday, May 11th that states several projects that were certified for incentive funds have not started production and have fallen out of the queue. There is over $2 million in funds still available until June 30th. After that point, the remaining funds will revert back to the state and the new year will begin.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the incentive, please contact the Office of Film and Entertainment at
