APPLICATION FOR FLORIDA'S ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY FINANCIAL INCENTIVE AVAILABLE MONDAY, JUNE 19, 2006!
~ $20,000,000 Available to filmmakers for fiscal year 2006/07 ~
The new applications and 'Policies and Procedures' for Florida's $20,000,000 financial incentive program that begins July 1, 2006 will go online at www.filminflorida.com on Monday morning, 9:00 AM on June 19th, and will start being accepted by the Governor's Office of Film and Entertainment the same day.
Qualified productions during fiscal year 2006-2007 may receive a cash rebate of up to 15% of their Florida qualified expenditures, up to a maximum of $2,000,000, provided they spend a minimum of $850,000 in Florida on Florida cast, crew, businesses and vendors. Details on the incentive program can be found online at www.filminflorida.com.
All applications received within the first two weeks, June 19th – June 30th, will be considered based on the principal photography start date (priority to the earliest start date), meaning first to get an application submitted will not provide an advantage. If two applications have the same start date, the time and date stamps of each application's arrival at Governor's Office of Film & Entertainment will determine which receives first consideration.
Applications received after July 1st will be considered strictly on a first-come, first-serve basis (NOT by principal photography start date) until February 1, 2007, when subsequent applications will be considered by principal photography start date.
The $20,000,000 available represents a doubling of the 2005-2006 funding due to the successful efforts of Governor Jeb Bush, Representative Don Davis, Senator Burt Saunders, and the Florida Legislature in its most recent session.
