The South Beach Comedy Festival is January 17-20th on Miami Beach. Venues are The Jackie Gleason Theater, The Colony Theater, the Lincoln Theater, and an additional free stage will be set up to provide comedy for all.
For four days, headliners like Rosanne Barr, Mike Epps, Bill Maher, Jon Stewart and more will perform. Spreading the art of comedy includes a performance by Andrew Dice Clay, a favorite for years at Miami's Improv Comedy Club and Restaurant. Shows will be sold out in most cases.
For example, Margaret Cho is scheduled to bring the Sensuous Woman to the Colony Theater. The Sensuous Woman is a new burlesque, comedy and belly dance revue, hosted by and starring comedian Margaret Cho. Featuring an impressive lineup of the country's most renowned burlesque and belly dance performers, as well as hilarious stand-up and sketch comedy from both emerging and established artists, The Sensuous Woman has been playing monthly in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Cho is not the only hot ticket lined up. Lisa Lampinelli, Artie Lange, and Jim Breuer are comedy going crowd pleasers.
For comedy viewers who are newbies (meaning if the heavy hitter names previously mentioned haven't hit your Funny bone) then Josh Blue from NBC'S Last Comic Standing will save the day with his fresh styling. For a closer look at the festivities go to www.southbeachcomedyfestival.com .
