On their way to graduation rehearsal Joshua and his friends struggle to help him finish his commencement speech. It’s not everyday you get to be chosen as Mckinley High’s first African American Valedictorian. The pressure is on when the group of friends find themselves in a situation that could completely ruin graduation but most importantly the rest of their lives. The stakes are high when you’re preparing for the greatest achievement of your life, and societal norms try to take that away from you.
17-year-old Puerto Rican, sassy but mature, extrovert, loves fashion. Best friends with Tyrese and Josh, and she has a slight crush on Josh.
18-year-old African American, ladies man, comedic character, he has hope for a better future but does not believe he has what it takes. He cares deeply for his friends.
18-year-old African American, he is the Valedictorian, sweet and quiet, cares about school, and his grades.
18-year-old Caucasian, friendly acquaintance of Josh, Larissa, and Tyrese, he has known them since middle school and wants to be a part of their friend group. He is that friend that always means well but sometimes his intentions miss the mark. Loves Marvel.
