Adaril is a short sci-fi/fantasy student film written and directed by Alanna McFarren and produced by Hope Firebaugh about Rowan, a fallen prince who must convince his captor of her true magical nature in order for the rebellion against the usurpers of the throne to succeed.

Shooting will take place in Lakeland, FL, from January 31st, 2025, to February 2nd, 2025. We are seeking four actors to play the main characters. Meals and credit are included. We will be accepting auditions via video until Monday, January 27th, 2025. Rowan (male, 20-27)

The fallen prince of Adaril, who has been captured by his sister, Sigrid.

ROWAN

Adaril has fallen. Its people are bleeding, its bricks are moaning...but for what? Who will save them? Everything that once quickened the pulse of this nation has been crushed beyond recognition, ground to nothing and cast to the wind in a fortnight.

(A beat.)

They can’t be blamed for keeping false hope when their world collapsed without warning. Without hope, there is nothing left. But that’s what you want, isn’t it?

Sigrid (female, 20-27)

First Lieutenant of the rebel kingdom and Rowan's brother.

SIGRID

Silence! Take your lies and swallow them back down - they will only weaken you. This new order is the only place that has ever treated me as a human, a real person that is considered and acknowledged.

(A beat.)

I will not stand here and passively let you spit on the names of those who saved me. So I dare you, say it one more time. See how far it will take you.

The commander-in-chief and leader of the rebellion against the new regime.
