Clay's character is a mix of Bradley "Brad" Young from Shameless and Casey Affleck from Manchester by the Sea. He should come across as hungry, desperate, and worn out, making the audience sympathize with him and root for his success.

MR. GREGORY  (40-50) BULGARIAN

He's super sweet and dislikes delivering bad news. He's straightforward and genuine. I picture him as quite similar to Toros from Anora.

SCENE

It's December of 2020, right in the thick of covid pandemic. Jobs are hard to come by, and The Beach View is seeing hardly any customers. Clay, who has a 5-month-old daughter, just got furloughed from his dishwashing gig at the beachside restaurant after only three months. He's trying to stay calm, but you can tell he's feeling scared and confused. While he's outside having a smoke, a chance pops up that could help him get out of his financial troubles.
