It may be a little late to order DVD's online and get them here for Christmas, but here are a few that have been released recently and one that came out this summer.
The big budget film (for here) to release from Orlando is Bring It On 4: In It To Win It from Universal and shot at Universal Orlando. You should be able to find this one at most DVD retailers such as Amazon.
Local company Nemours Marketing has two DVD's on the market. The first is Magic 4 Morons which was made by Pamplin Film Company. It features Michael Winslow and the magic workings of Lyndel. This was also shot at Universal and is available at FilmBaby.com.
Nemours' other DVD is Sing Along with Holiday Classics. It's a little late notice, but you can still run out and get this one locally. This DVD runs 30 minutes and can be used as background music or a sing-along. It includes songs such as Angels We Have Heard on High, Deck the Halls, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, and The First Noel. The DVD is being sold at several local retailers including Marge's Specialties in Orlando and The Partridge Tree in Winter Park. This is also available at FilmBaby.com.
For the horror fans, a feature shot around the bend of Florida is County Road 14. This was made by filmmaker Eddie Brown, Jr. and Surround Filmworks. Here is how they describe it:
County Road 14 is a fictional thriller, inspired by actual events. The main character, Regina Colfax and her husband Tom move back to Regina's hometown, Perry, Florida after her Great-Aunt passes away in a car accident. Then, Regina befriends Jess Williams to help her solve the unexplained death of her aunt. But as their investigation grows longer, they find that not only have they awoken Rita Mae Cobb, they've unleashed a spirit that will doom them all.
County Road 14 is also available at Amazon.com.
This leads us to the oldest movie of the bunch, Beer Drinkers in Space. This was made in 1983 by a group of Disney employees who were building Epcot Center at that time. In 2006, director Frank Delle reunited the cast and crew for a documentary to look back at the original movie and how it has affected their very lives. This documentary Keep Drinking, Men! The Story of Beer Drinkers in Space accompanies the original movie.
Beer Drinkers in Space is available at most DVD retailers online and through their distributor Tempe Video.
