There are a few events coming up this week being billed as Film Florida events. Everything starts on Monday, June 9th with a new fundraiser called the Sara Fuller Khaki and White Casino Night. That is being held at the Grand Bohemian on South Orange Avenue. It is a fundraiser sponsored by Film Florida and Women and Film.
Sara Fuller was a pioneer in Florida's Production Industry, and was known for wearing white button down shirts and khaki shorts when working on set. Film Florida's scholarship will honor her memory by supporting future filmmakers and encouraging excellence in the field of motion picture education. All proceeds will benefit the Sara Fuller Student Scholarship Fund. Sara Fuller was Orlando Film Commissioner Jennifer Pennypacker's mother. On Tuesday, is Film Florida's Annual Meeting, which is free and open to the public. It is also at the Grand Bohemian from 1pm - 5pm. Following the meeting from 7pm to 10pm is the Film Florida Legends Awards. This will take place in Maitland at the Enzian Theater. Advance tickets are $35 with day of event ticket prices set at $45. This year, they are honoring numerous people in the industry. They are Danny and Eddie Harvey and Digger Wilson of Last Stage Out of Town, Ralph Clemente of Valencia Community College, and the Fuller brothers, Brad of Florida Film & Tape and Mike of Mike Fuller Group.
Wednesday concludes the 3 day event with the Florida Film & Entertainment Advisory Council's quarterly meeting. This will be held at the Grand Bohemian from 9am - 12noon. This event is free and open to the public.
