8 Films Slotted for Film Slam on August 10th
(released
Wednesday, August 6, 2008)
By Douglas Lorah
August's Film Slam has a lineup of 8 films scheduled for Sunday, August 10th. The screening begins at 1pm.
The first short is by the Young Filmmaker Summer Camp run at the Enzian Theater. As this is a camp for summer school kids, that should be entertaining. I am also curious to see the short doc about Kelly Slater. If you don't know who Kelly Slater is, you've probably never picked up a Surfer Magazine or at least not in the past 15 years. Let's just say he is the Michael Jordan of surfing and he grew up in Cocoa Beach.
The Film Slam takes place at the Enzian Theater in Maitland - 1300 South Orlando Avenue. Winners of each Film Slam get a screening slot at the Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase in December. Some winners have also had their shorts screened at the Florida Film Festival. To enter your film into the Film Slam, go to http://www.enzian.org/films/filmslam.html.
