Issa Rae has been announced as the American Black Film Festival 2022 Ambassador. Rae will help to showcase the 26 year legacy of showcasing and discovering black talent. Rae will join festival founders Jeff and Nicole Friday on stage opening night June 15, 2002.
Issa Rae has been given an eight episode order to a half-hour comedy series RAP SH*T (working title) where she will serve as executive producer and show runner. The logline for her new show: RAP SH*T follows two estranged high school friends from Miami who reunite to form a rap group.
ABFF Ventures LLC announced in March that Michael Quigley, Executive Vice President of Content Acquisitions TNT, TBS, truTV, HBO and HBO Max at WarnerMedia, will serve as jury president for the 2022 American Black Film Festival (ABFF).
