Film Slam Lined Up for October 13th
(released
Saturday, October 5, 2013)
By Douglas Lorah
The final Film Slam of the 2013 season is Sunday, October 13th. The top vote getter, along with the previous winners of the year, will move on to the Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase in November.
Being the month of Halloween, this should be an interesting Slam since Film Slam event producer Tim Anderson is a horror aficionado. There also happens to be an entry from Anderson along with director Steven Shea (Rockabilly Zombie Weekend) of a Bloody Jug Band music video. The BJB is led by John Theisen, former Film Slam producer. There is an entry from director Todd Thompson. Thompson runs Stars North and has been able to attract named talent such as Seymour Cassel (Rushmore) and Michael Rooker (Walking Dead) to his films. There are also entries from Film Slam regulars Carl Knickerbocker and T.L. Westgate.
Tickets are $5.00 and the screenings start at 1:00pm at the Enzian Theater. It is located at 1300 South Orlando Avenue in Maitland.
