Senator Detert Speaks for Florida Film Incentive

Florida State Senator Nancy C. Detert went before the Governmental Oversight & Accountability Committee on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 to speak about the Florida Film Incentive Senate Bill (SB) 1640.

Senator Detert gives the example of Ben Affleck wanting to make a film set in Ybor City that may be made in Savannah, Georgia due to incentives not offered in Florida that can be obtained in Georgia's economic climate.
SB 1640 passed the Oversight and Accountability Committee with 8 Yeas and 0 Nays. SB1640 is under review, with forward movement to the appropriations stage anticipated.
