(released
Tuesday, July 21, 2015)
By Kimberly Burke
Create 360* is an exclusive artist program for independent television writers and producers both scripted and non-scripted. Opportunity in the development of content for cable group A+E Networks exists in this program.
The network's brand of broadcasting channels include: A&E, History, Lifetime, H2 and FYI. A+E Networks is continuing to partner with the New York Television Festival (NYTVF) in 2015 building on unscripted project creation.
The 360* Unscripted Development Pipeline allows submitting producers to review creative briefs from A&E, History, and Lifetime for information and guidelines. A&E, HISTORY, and LIFETIME, are all returning to this year's NYTVF to seek out "new, bold, unscripted show concepts and out-of-this-world characters".
This year's 11th annual New York Television Festival also marks a first for scripted writers to submit for development consideration through The Lifetime Writers project.
"The NYTVF-Lifetime Writers Project is soliciting new hour-long, brand-defining series concepts from emerging TV scribes. To submit, writers must enter an original series overview (up to four pages) along with an excerpt from the series' pilot script (up to fifteen pages) and a current C.V."
Online submissions will open on the NYTVF website on Monday, July 27 and close Friday, August 7, 2015.
Both competitions are free to enter, can lead to official New York Television Festival artist status, give your ideas access to development heads at mentioned affiliates, and monitary gain toward your vision. NYTVF officials review submissions. Network officials make decisions and winners are announced before and during the October New York Television Festival 2015 in Manhattan.
