The Zara Brothers www.sketchbookproductions.com have announced that they have optioned their feature film screenplay "Skippy Lightfoot's Perfect Day" to Sodium Entertainment in Burbank, CA (www.sodium11.com). The script is based on their 2002 short film of the same name.
The film was intended to be produced locally in central Florida and directed by Fred Zara. However, after attaching actor Joel David Moore for the lead role of Skippy Lightfoot, an offer to option the script "out west" materialized, and, due to funding roadblocks, it seemed like the best way for the brothers to see their film hit the screen.
Producers at Sodium are very excited about acquiring the script, and they are confident that between their experience and the growing interest in Joel Moore, they will have a lot to present to investors. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Joel Moore was seen in last year's Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, starring Ben Stiller and Vince Vaugh, and has been working steadily since. He will be appearing in films this year with John Malkovich, Tim Allen, and Wilmer Valderrama.
