48 Hour Film Project Orlando Set for July
(released
Wednesday, May 18, 2016)
By Douglas Lorah
The 48 Hour Film Project Orlando is back. Registration just opened on May 10. Producer Kyle Snavely is back working the contest and event in his second year.
The 48HFP, if new to you, is a filmmaking contest in which teams have 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a short film. At the beginning of the contest, the teams are given a line of script, a prop, a character name, and a genre that must be incorporated into the film.
The contest weekend is July 15-17, 2016. There are a couple of meet n' greets in lead up to organize and possibly meet teammates: Saturday, May 21 at 8pm at Buffalo Wild Wings in Waterford and Wednesday, May 25 at 8pm at Brick House Tavern & Tap on I-Drive. The contest kickoff and dropoff will take place at Valencia's East Campus.
The competition will be followed with screenings and awards in the weeks to follow.
There are rolling registration dates from now through July 15. To learn more and register a team, go to http://www.48hourfilm.com/orlando-fl.
