i.d.e.a.s. Entertainment announced a newly inked "first look" development deal with Conari Press. As part of the agreement, i.d.e.a.s. will have the first opportunity to develop television series projects based on Conari Press books including, "Simple Pleasures" and "The Breakup Repair Kit."
i.d.e.a.s. is developing the "The Breakup Repair Kit: How to Heal Your Broken Heart" book by Marni Kamins and Janice Macleod as a 1/2 hour reality series. The "Simple Pleasures" series will be a celebrity hosted 1/2 hour series based on author Susannah Seton's popular nine book series by the same title.
"Both the 'Simple Pleasures' series and 'The Breakup Repair Kit' books are a wonderful source of support, humor and inspiration for our readers," commented Brenda Knight, Director of Marketing at Conari Press. "We know the team at i.d.e.a.s. will turn the books into great television and acquire avid and loyal viewers."
The "Simple Pleasures" books, a lifestyle brand in the U.S., offer a myriad of creative, resourceful and easy ideas for a pleasure-filled life. "Simple Pleasures", targeted to the 21-55 female demographic, will include creative ideas for refreshing room makeovers, practical tips and recipes for marvelous but simple meals, fun and original family-building activities, and countless other ways to seize the day and savor the moment.
In development as a reality series, "The Breakup Repair Kit", focuses on the tools anyone can use to move beyond the pain and confusion resulting from a relationship breakup. Each week the show will follow one person's step-by-step healing process featuring methods for getting over a broken heart, pulling together and getting back into life. The reality clincher promising to keep viewers engrossed: Will the other half of the broken duo show up at the location where the recovering broken hearted is trying to get back into the groove?
