DMAC Hosts Premiere of Four Indie Shorts
(released
Tuesday, August 23, 2005)
By Douglas Lorah
On Friday, August 19, 2005, four short films premiered at the Downtown Media Arts Center.
6 out of 7 by Mark Shapins, The Viewing by Linnda Durre', The Busser by Kit Phelps and The Creed by Adam Arnali.
The crowd slowly gathered in the gallery downstairs. Light snacks and drinks were available as Bob Rafkin played smooth melodies.
The crowd turned out to be more than the theatre could hold. 80 seats and then some. People were lined up on the left and right aisles and 2 deep in the rear.
The show began with John Theisen reminding everyone about the house rules. He was followed with brief introductions by the directors and special screening of the trailer for Steven Shea's Hoodoo For Voodoo.
Each film screened and was followed by brief Q&A's.
