Local producer Jon Jones and recent UCF film graduate Benjamin M. Piety have created a music video for a song reflecting life in Central Florida that will be screened next week at the prestigious Los Angeles Film Festival.
The video was shot near the Econlockhatchee River with the song "Stickin' Around" by local alt-country/folk favorites the Heathens. In the video, both the visual elements of local nature and lyrics of the song reflect themes about living in Central Florida.
The LA film festival, which showcases the best of American and international cinema, will run from June 22 thru July 2. The music video will screen twice during the festival, on June 25 and July 1.
The video will share the stage with music videos from bands such as the White Stripes, Nine Inch Nails and the Shins, and directors such as David Fincher, of Fight Club fame.
The video won the audience award at the Florida Music Festival Indie Film Jam last month.
Jones, of Orlando, is a Central Florida native who holds a bachelor's degree in management from the UCF College of Business Administration. He is a freelance filmmaker, photographer and videographer.
Piety recently moved from Orlando to Los Angeles to pursue a career in directing feature-length films.
