PBS does a fundraising effort every year by having a telethon. They try to raise money as well as increase their regular memberships.
The Enzian Theater is doing something similar for the month of October. They are having 3 events to raise money and add members to the Enzian Film Society. Members can attend the events free of charge and non-members can purchase tickets to each event.
On Saturday, October 6 at 12:30 PM, the first event is called Damn The Man! Save Enzian! The afternoon will begin with an outdoor barbeque and concert. Members can enjoy hotdogs, hamburgers and beer while listening to local bands, Mirror Pal, Rogue-Fi, Brush Off, No Circus and more. Afterward, the party will move indoors for a screening of the cult classic Empire Records, starring Liv Tyler and Renee Zellweger. This event is $15 for non-members, which includes food and drink tickets, the concert, and the film.
The next event is Chocolate, Chocolat & Wine on Wednesday, October 10 at 5:30 PM. The evening will begin with a chocolate and wine tasting in the courtyard and end with a screening of Chocolat, starring Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche. Non-members can purchase tickets for $15.
Enzian Theater's final Membership Month event will take place on Saturday, October 27 at 12:00 PM. At Enzian Theater Salutes The Art Of Guerilla Filmmaking, film lovers and filmmakers will gather for a guerilla filmmaking panel discussion followed by a screening of Cedil B. Demented. The panel includes: John Theisen (Interlude Films, Enzian Theater's FilmSlam) Jason Liquori (Hocus Focus Productions), Stephen Shea (Abyssmal Films) and Tim Anderson (Sin-A-Rama Films). Non-members can attend this event by purchasing tickets for $9.
