Film Slam #10 on Sunday, October 14th was a success for the event as they surpassed the previous attendance record of 97 with 155 attendees.
The winning short film was, as of yet, an untitled piece by Ali Imran Zaidi. Imran is even taking suggestions. You can check out some of his work at www.theseventhlevel.net. This is his second winning film of the Film Slam this year. He also won in January with A Man in the Attic. He will have two entries into the Grand Slam at Brouhaha in December.
Second place went to Just a Little Stop by Justin De Leon and the third place film was The Flossing by Banks Helfrich.
Co-host Brian Feldman made an announcement that he will no longer be co-host and co-programmer with the Film Slam. According to his Film Slam co-host John Theisen, he will be the sole host and programmer, but there may be occasional guest hosts.
There is one Film Slam remaining this year before the Grand Slam at the Brouhaha Film & Video Showcase in December. For details on how to get your film entered, go to http://www.enzian.org/films/filmslam.html.
Photos from the event, including Brian Feldman as Death, are available in the PhotoSeen.
