By Kimberly Burke
Florida State University's annual Veterans Day themed film screening will take place on November 7, at 7 p.m. This is the 9th year of what was created to heighten awareness of veterans issues among the campus and community. To extend the outreach, this year's screening is being presented by the College of Motion Picture Arts Torchlight Cinematheque in association with the FSU Veterans Alliance.
The feature presentation will be "ABOVE THE BEST." This documentary-narrative film takes viewers on a ride with an Apache gunship pilot during his year in the fight within Hindu Kush Mountains and the Korengal Valley. The film's use of both arial and on-the-ground footage allows a perspective of the cockpit as well as soldiers below.
CMX Cinemas Fallschase located at 147 Vermillion Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32317 is where the evening will take place. The event is open to the public and complimentary.
