Enzian announced Wednesday, March 3rd the line-up of films selected for the Documentary and Narrative Feature Film categories of the American Independent Competition for the 19th Annual Florida Film Festival, sponsored by Full Sail University. Three second U.S. screenings and nine East Coast premieres were selected, with 11 filmmakers making their feature directorial debuts and eight female directors represented among the 10 narrative films and 10 documentaries.
"The scope of cinematic expression in this year's Festival is found not simply in terms of the volume of submissions or its demographics but in the variety of types of filmmakers and the issues they explore," said Matthew Curtis, Florida Film Festival Programming Director. "This year we are screening films that embody risk-taking, diversity, and aesthetic innovation, and we are hopeful that audiences will find them as engaging and entertaining as we do."
The 20 films will be eligible for up to three awards each: a Grand Jury award for best film in that category, a Special Jury award given at the jury’s discretion for exceptional achievements, and a NESTLE® Cranberry RAISINETS® Audience award, determined by audience votes.
